Fang Henshui paused for a second and said with a bitter smile, “I believed him. He was just like a genial old man when he talked. He even told me that Great General Luo Yao of Left Advance Guard was injured by the people of the Buddhist Sect. He also mentioned that the Buddhist Sect wanted to assassinate the Emperor during the Emperor’s meeting with Khagan Mong Ge of Mongo-Yuan, but nothing happened because Principal Zhou of the Martial Arts Academy was also there. I was proud when I heard that since Principal Zhou is so powerful!”

“He also said that a great cultivator of Great Sui traveled west about 10 years ago and killed many people, and the cultivation masters of the Buddhist Sect couldn’t stop him. It was the Great Wheel Wisdom King who killed that great cultivator, but now he suspected that this cultivator escaped and wasn’t killed.”

“I listened to all this carefully because Great Sui is involved. Why did I memorize all these things?”

“I’m a member of Great Sui! Even though Wisdom gave me Chenxiao as a buddhist name, I’m still a member of Great Sui!”

Mo Wanwu let out some noises. He wanted to talk, but he was on the verge of death; he had no strength to talk.

Fang Henshui asked, “You think that my mind is in the right place?”

Mo Wanwu couldn’t respond; he didn’t even have the strength to move his eyes.

Fang Henshui seemed a little thirsty, but he didn’t bring a water bag, and Mo Wanwu’s water bag was destroyed in the fight. He licked his lips and looked at the blood flowing out of Mo Wanwu’s broken legs, but he sighed and didn’t do anything in the end.

“I was joyous when Wisdom said that he was going to give me some cultivation strength. I didn’t have the talent when I was young. My father spent money and got a cultivator to test my physique, but the cultivator said that I couldn’t do it since I only have 33 open qi-points. I always felt like I’m special and not like others. When I grew up, I realized that everyone had these thoughts when they were young.”

“I crawled toward Wisdom joyously, wanting to become a cultivator. However, I saw a light blink in Wisdom’s eyes.”

“I didn’t know how I got smart at that moment, but I felt like Wisdom wasn’t going to give me any cultivation strength; he was going to eat me. He had eaten my flesh before. It must be hard for you to imagine that a heavenly lord of the Buddhist Sect that promotes kindness would eat human flesh.”

“I acted like I didn’t have the strength anymore.”

Fang Henshui seemed proud and said with his brows lifted, “I told him that if he was hungry, he should eat my flesh first and not waste his cultivation strength. Wisdom froze for a second and shook his head. He said that I was his disciple and he couldn’t do it. I told him that I was completely willing to feed myself to him.”

“After a moment of silence, Wisdom said that he will only take a small bit to recover some energy and he wouldn’t eat much as he was old.”

“I told him that I had no strength to crawl and he should crawl to me to eat my flesh.”

Fang Henshui said proudly, “He didn’t move. He said that he just couldn’t bring himself to eat the flesh of his disciple.”

“I smiled brightly at that moment. That old fart couldn’t even move anymore.”

[TL Note: This chapter is giving a lot of context to what had happened.]
